Meet Toby Angel, a 26-year-old photographer with a passion for skateboarding photography. While he loves capturing the high-flying action and raw energy of skateboarders, he makes his living primarily by photographing Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.

Despite his age, Toby has already established himself as a talented and mature photographer. He approaches each shoot with professionalism and a keen eye for detail, whether he’s capturing the thrill of a skateboarder landing a trick or the joyous celebration of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

Growing up, Toby was always drawn to the skateboarding scene. He was fascinated by the way skateboarders fearlessly pushed their limits and defied gravity, and he began taking photos of his friends and fellow skaters as a way to capture those exhilarating moments.

As he honed his photography skills, Toby began to branch out into other areas of photography, including event photography and portraits. He found that he had a natural talent for capturing the excitement and emotion of special occasions, and soon began booking Bar and Bat Mitzvahs on a regular basis.

Despite the stark contrast between his two primary areas of focus, Toby finds that both skateboarding and Bar/Bat Mitzvah photography share a common thread: the importance of capturing moments of pure joy and celebration. Whether he’s documenting the fearless spirit of a skateboarder or the meaningful rite of passage of a young adult, Toby is passionate about using his camera to capture moments that will be treasured for years to come.

I worked with Toby Angel as the primary, with Alison Tremblay helping with the portraits, for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. We just got the proofs and EACH PICTURE IS MORE GORGEOUS THAN THE NEXT. In addition, they are a class act all the way. So responsive, flexible, easy to work with, eager to please, reassuring, and put everyone at ease. I had many problems with many vendors throughout this process, but I can say that working with this photography team, with Toby taking the lead, was top notch, all the way. And the results are beautiful

Thanks so much for reaching out and thank you for sending these absolutely amazing photos! I have to say, Toby far exceeded our expectations. He was such a joy to work with prior to and on the big day. He was so accommodating and patient. Most of all, he is such a talented photographer. It shows in these photographs.

If you are lucky enough to have Toby as your photographer you will have photos that have amazing artistic vision and youthful style. He is fantastic at being in the right place at the right time while keeping a low profile. —— I really could go on and on. But feel free to edit the above and make it whatever you want.

But last night I had the pleasure of working with Toby Angel at the Schwartz Bar Mitzvah. It was very tight quarters in the small ceremony room at the Four Seasons. But Toby and I were conscious of each other and I had quickly realized he was no rookie. This was also plain to see as I eyed him interacting with the clients. At the party, we planned how to shoot the hora beforehand as to not get in each other’s way. I like Toby a lot and hope to work with him again, soon.
